After trotting under foot
They multiply and spread
Resistance is futile
*
So the war must finally end
A foe unstoppable
What is a king to do?
For a doctrine, other worldly
It’s death over life they’ll always choose
Mock, exile and torture
Will only make them stronger
Hunt, entrap and slaughter
Their faith will never falter
*
Now take a different course
Brute force will not prevail
Go down into their dungeon
And free them from their jail
*
Tell them all is well
And that you have seen the light
Elevate their position
Let them spread their wings in flight
*
Lavish on them wealth
Merge your power with their craft
Make of them kingly priests
Forsaking their lowly pass
*
Harness their beliefs
Shape them to your purpose
Let them preach it to the masses
And the teachings make conversions
*
A confederacy of kings
Once divided, now united
Anointed by the father
It’s Caesar reemerging
*
Garbed in holy vestments
Trading toga for Triple Crown
The unstoppable foe is conquered
He has cast them to the ground
*
Stomp them down at last
Other worldly doctrine deposed
Thinking him to be their savior
He’s become their little horn.
2Thessalonians 2
3 “…the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
Daniel 7
“…Shall persecute the saints of the Most High…”
