Religious Intolerance & Blasphemy laws Pt. 10 – Pro-family Views Cost a Man his Job

Intolerance for Christian values can clearly been seen in the case of, superintendent, Dr. Edmond Heatley, who’s pro-family views cost him his job.

LifeSiteNews.Com

BERKELEY, September 19, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – A former Marine’s views about the sanctity of marriage have cost him a job as superintendent of schools in Berkeley, California.

Dr. Edmond Heatley, who is African-American, had already been selected as the final candidate and resigned his position as a superintendent in Georgia when news broke that in 2008 he supported Proposition 8, a pro-marriage state ballot initiative adopted by California voters that November.

“The Berkeley School Board is engaging in blatant viewpoint discrimination by declining to hire an otherwise well-qualified candidate for School Superintendent, just because he supported Prop 8,” Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, the founder of The Ruth Institute, wrote in a statement e-mailed to LifeSiteNews.com.

Religious Intolerance & Blasphemy laws Pt. 8 – Obama’s $70,000 Apology Ads

Fox Nation

Marked by the U.S. Embassy seal, advertisements condemning an anti-Islam video appeared on Pakistani television on Thursday in an apparent attempt to undercut anger against the United States, where the film was produced. Hundreds of youths, however, clashed with security officials as they tried in vain to reach the embassy in Islamabad amid anger in many countries over the film’s vulgar depiction of the Prophet Muhammad.

The advertisements appear to be an effort by the U.S. government to dampen chaos surrounding the film and undo some of the damage to America’s image in the Muslim world. Violence linked to the movie has left at least 30 people in seven countries dead, including the American ambassador to Libya. Two people have died in protests in Pakistan.

The Modern Day Circumcision

Sabbath keeping has become the new circumcision for the legalists. Various legalistic groups, such as Seventh Day Adventist, believe that followers of Jesus Christ are perfected by keeping the 10 commandments. Some groups even include other aspects of the Old Covenant law. However, Jesus did not justify us, by faith in his atonement, so that those who believe in him would be perfected by keeping the 10 commandments. Instead, we are justified by faith in Christ, alone, and we are sanctified by abiding in Christ, alone. That is the only way to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

John 15
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Therefore, we are not to abide in the 10 commandments, but we are to walk in the Spirit (the teachings of Christ’s gospel), and that will cause us to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Those who would rather be sanctified by the 10 commandments, instead of the teachings of Christ’s gospel, are not believers in Christ, but are still dead in their sins, and on the broad path to Hell.

John 15
6    If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Hebrews 6
4    For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5    And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6    If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7    For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8    But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

The gospel’s command to love is the law of Christ’s followers.

John 13
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1John 2
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1John 3
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

John 15
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Galatians 5
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

We are perfected by loving Christ, and his church, and not by keeping the 10 commandments.

1John 4
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Ellen White – False Prophet of Seventh Day Adventism

“The seventh day (Saturday) is an extra-special part of the relationship. The Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, describes the seventh day as the one day God has set aside for focused fellowship with His people. God has named that day “Sabbath” and asked us to spend it with Him. “Remember the sabbath day,” He says, “to keep it holy.” The Sabbath is a whole day to deepen our friendship with the Creator of the universe! A day when we’re together, Jesus with us and us with Jesus.” ~ Adventists’ Beliefs

Faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ is the Sabbath for Christs’ followers, not the Sabbath of the 10 commandments:

Matthew 11
28    Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29    Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30    For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Ephesians 2
8    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9    Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Hebrews 4
1    Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2    For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3    For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4    For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5    And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6    Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7    Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8    For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9    There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10    For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11    Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Colossians 2
16    Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17    Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Believers in Christ must not judge each other by the food that they eat, or the holidays that they observe.

Romans 14
5    One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6    He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7    For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8    For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
9    For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10    But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11    For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12    So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13    Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

A little bit of heresy, concerning the gospel, ruins it:

Galatians 5
7    Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8    This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9    A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

Legalists are opposed to the gospel, and their heresy cannot be tolerated:

Galatians 1
6    I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7    Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8    But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9    As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

2John 1
8    Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9    Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10    If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11    For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

“Those who accept the Saviour, however sincere their conversion, should never be taught to say or feel that they are saved.” ~ Ellen G. White, “Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 155

Romans 10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 8
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

1John 3
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Galatians 5
1    Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2    Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3    For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4    Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5    For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6    For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

War on Consciousness Pt. 12 – Technocratic Brainwashing

Biotechnology is brainwashing children by sugar coating the truth about genetically modified organisms (GMO food). The result would be a generation of brainwashed children, who later become proponents of biotechnology’s invasion of the world’s food supply.

Activity Book for Kids

Hi, Kids,

Welcome to the Biotechnology Basics Activity Book (PDF – 1.72 MB). This is an activity book for young people like you about biotechnology — a really neat topic. Why is it such a neat topic? Because biotechnology is helping to improve the health of the Earth and the people who call it home.

In this book, you will take a closer look at biotechnology. You will see that biotechnology is being used to figure out how to: 1) grow more food; 2) help the environment; and 3) grow more nutritious food that improves our health. As you work through the puzzles in this book, you will learn more about biotechnology and all of the wonderful ways it can help people live better lives in a healthier world.

Have fun!

A Closer Look at Biotechnology

Biotechnology helps farms of all sizes
around the world.
Someday, farmers could produce more food, help the environment and produce
more nutritious food.
For example, the farmer in China could grow cotton and use less insecticide.
The farmer in India could grow healthier rice. The farmer in the United States
could grow potatoes that protect themselves from harmful insects. The farmer
in Argentina could grow corn that protects itself from insects.

The world’s best-selling weedkiller, and a genetically modified maize resistant to it, can cause tumours, multiple organ damage and lead to premature death, new research published today reveals.

Roundup is widely available in the UK, and is recommended on Gardeners Question Time. But this also represents a potential blow for the growth of GM Foods.

With the global population expected to increase to nine billion by 2050, the UN has said that global food production must increase by 50%. And a consultation led by DEFRA entitled Green Food Project recommended as recently as 10 July 2012 that GM must be reassessed as a possible solution.

Book Review #2 – “The Voice”

Noise of Thunder Radio –

Chris talks about the new release of the new Bible translation called “The Voice.”  Chris discusses the new translation and it’s differences from the KJV and other translations.

To listen to the program, click on the link entitled “THE VOICE“.

To learn a little more about “The Voice” translation, click on the link entitled “The Voice (Bible Translation)“.

“The Voice” is a Thomas Nelson publication. The owner of Thomas Nelson Publishing is Leo Hindery, a Jesuit trained business man who attributes his success in business to “lots of demons, and the Jesuits”, as described below.

SOUTHWICK: What gave you the ambition to go from sort of blue collar jobs to wanting to become, I guess, a businessman?

HINDERY: Lots of demons, lots of devils that have always caused me to want to succeed. I was blessed with some intellect; some intellectual curiosity as well, that just drove me. A lot of my early influences came from the Jesuits. I was Jesuit trained at both the high school level and at college, and that was a discipline and an environment that sort of forced you to excel, rewarded you for excellence, gave you this intellectual curiosity, and I always knew that I wanted to be something special. I don’t mean that self-servingly, but I did want to succeed and be well thought of. It was never about the money, it was just this sort of interest in excellence. I give a lot of the early, early credit to the Jesuits, later credit to Ed Littlefield, and in subsequent years Bill and John.

The Jesuits, starting with its founder, Ignatius of Loyola, has been a key player in the Counter Reformation of the Catholic Church, and has been a plague to the Protestants through inquisitions, crusades, and infiltration into Protestant circles. The Counter Reformation’s goal, was to bring the protestant nations, kings, and churches, back under the authority of the Pope. The Jesuits are known for operating according to their extreme Jesuit oath. To read the Jesuit Oat, click on the link entitled “The Jesuit Oath“. To learn more about the Jesuit order, and their activity over the last 460 years, click on the link entitled “The Jesuits: Their Moral Maxims And Plots Against Kings,Nations,And Churches“.

“The Voice” translation is not the Bible, but a poor version of a paraphrased Bible, and it is promoted by a student of the Counter Reformation, which still exists today. These two facts does not put the new Bible translation in a good light.

The best Bible translation is not a paraphrased version, but a translation that is as close to the word for word translation of the Greek and Hebrews text as possible.

Book Review #1 – “I Declare” ~ By Joel Osteen

Joel Osteen’s latest book, “I declare”, is up for review by the Word of God.

According to Joelosteen.com

The words we speak set the course for our life. If you want to know what you’re going to be like in five years, listen to the words you are saying about yourself today.

Now you can take charge of your future with the help of Joel Osteen’s latest book-I Declare. Filled with 31 written declarations-one for each day-you can declare, in faith, God’s powerful Word over your life and watch your surroundings change in incredible ways. You will move forward to a promising future from the fruit of your words!

The question is, does the word of God support these powerful claims? Can believers in Christ use their faith in Christ to change their surroundings for their own personal benefit, and ensure, for themselves, through their spoken words, a promising future? Can believers, indeed, speak to stones, and see them turned into bread, because they are joint heirs with Christ?

No they cannot, and this sort of speech is boasting and evil:

James 4
13    Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14    Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15    For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16    But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17    Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

This is akin to the deceptive temptation that Satan brought to Jesus:

Matthew 4
1    Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2    And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3    And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4    But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

This sort of doctrine is evil, and from Satan himself.

Believers in Christ do not live according to their own will, nor do they use their faith in God to live according to their own will. Instead, they are commanded to live by the word of God – the gospel of Jesus Christ. The faith of Christ’s followers is for believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and this faith leads to living according to the teachings of Christ, and the gospel.

John 8
30    As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31    Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32    And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
34    Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35    And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36    If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Therefore, faith is not for living out a promising future, such as having a successful career. No. Instead, faith is for being justified before God, by believing in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection for sinners. This faith in Christ’s atonement then leads to a life of obedience to the teachings of Christ.

1John 5
14    And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15    And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Believers in Christ are to pray according to the will of Christ, and not their own will. Prayer according to Christ’s will is guaranteed to be answered. This is the will of Christ:

Matthew 6
9    After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10    Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11    Give us this day our daily bread.
12    And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13    And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

No where in the Bible is the law of attraction, through positive declarations, taught has a godly lifestyle. Instead, it is clearly condemned as evil, and Satanic.

Furthermore, Osteen, and the rest of these word of faith televangelists learned the law of attraction heresy from Kenneth Hagin, who taught the teachings of the Kabbalah as though it were the gospel, when it is really witchcraft.

It teaches that men are gods, and that they can manipulate the higher power in Heaven through the power of their will.

Osteen has subtly affirmed this heresy by telling people to boast as though they have creative power, by taking the same claim for themselves that God has claimed for himself, which is “I Am”.

Exodus 3
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Isaiah 47
8 Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, “I Am”, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I Am, and none else beside me.
11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put if off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.

Isaiah 42
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Romans 12
3    For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

The word of faith teachers claim that we can create our own reality by the power of our own will, by speaking the right words out loud.

The conclusion is that Christians therefore, should not be sick or poor, because they are gods, who are able to create their own reality. This is not the gospel, but a different religion; the Kabbalah. It is an earth-based/works-based salvation.

Christ came to into the world to be the payment for our sins, so that we can be made right with God by believing in the atoning work of his Son, and so that we could be raised from the dead to live forever with him (Romans 5:1-11 & Romans 6:1-5). That’s the gospel.

The gospel has nothing to do with men claiming to be gods, or creating their own reality. The Bible calls this heresy, of man claiming to be god, “the mystery of iniquity”, which is a heresy that will bring in the great tribulation (2Thessalonians 2:1-8). It is Satanic, and those who follow it will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21).

It should be of no surprise that mankind will believe in a false god-man (2Thessalonians 2:8-12 & Revelation 13), since mankind is already claiming to be gods.

Therefore, Scripture commands us to run from people like Joel Osteen (2John 1:8-11 & Galatians 1:6-9). God’s curse is clearly upon them.

The New Christianity Pt. 7 – All Roads Lead to Rome

On March 6, of 2010, Cardinal William Levada, prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (also known as the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition, from which arose the names Roman Inquisition, or Holy Inquisition, mainly used in reference to the 16th century tribunals against witchcraft and heresy), described the purpose for ecumenism in this way, “union with the Catholic Church is the goal of ecumenism.

This goal was also affirmed, and expounded upon, by Pope Paul VI, on October 28, 1965, as stated below:

Acknowledging all faiths as valid for knowing God:

From ancient times down to the present, there is found among various peoples a certain perception of that hidden power which hovers over the course of things and over the events of human history; at times some indeed have come to the recognition of a Supreme Being, or even of a Father. This perception and recognition penetrates their lives with a profound religious sense.

Places its own religion as the supreme religion of the world (Revelation 17:5):

The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions. She regards with sincere reverence those ways of conduct and of life, those precepts and teachings which, though differing in many aspects from the ones she holds and sets forth, nonetheless often reflect a ray of that Truth which enlightens all men. Indeed, she proclaims, and ever must proclaim Christ “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), in whom men may find the fullness of religious life, in whom God has reconciled all things to Himself.(4)

Heralds the social gospel, and world peace (1Thessalonians 5:1-3):

Since in the course of centuries not a few quarrels and hostilities have arisen between Christians and Moslems, this sacred synod urges all to forget the past and to work sincerely for mutual understanding and to preserve as well as to promote together for the benefit of all mankind social justice and moral welfare, as well as peace and freedom.

We, as Orthodox, Catholic, and Evangelical Christians, have gathered, beginning in New York on September 28, 2009, to make the following declaration, which we sign as individuals, not on behalf of our organizations, but speaking to and from our communities. For Your Health Pt. 12 – Harmful Side Effects of Antibiotics

Yahoo! Health

Antibiotics can save lives by fighting bacterial infections, but that’s not to say that they’re without risk. These strong medicines can have some alarming side effects, resulting in thousands of lawsuits each year.

What kinds of side effects do antibiotics cause?

It’s been estimated that over 140,000 emergency visits are made to the hospital each year due to antibiotic-associated side effects, with allergic reactions being the most common. “Minimizing unnecessary antibiotic use by even a small percentage could significantly reduce the immediate and direct risks of drug-related adverse events in individual patients,” a 2007 study showed.

Oral fluoroquinolones are the most popular antibiotics, and include Cipro (ciprofloxacin), Levaquin (levofloxafin) and Avelox (moxifloxacin). But taking these antibiotics increases your risk of developing a retinal detachment by five times compared with nonusers, a recent study shows.

“It was like a great big warm fuzzy blanket. The president comes out in favor of tolerance. There’s your breaking news,” Bolton quipped. “The problem with the speech was that it was infused with the fallacy of moral equivalency — that there‘s sort of extremism and intolerance everywhere and it’s all the same.”
